How to check this claim

Look at: Networking segment revenue growth attributable to customer buy-ahead/pull-forward demand

It came true if: Networking segment revenue growth or order patterns do not show a material pull-forward spike (qualitative confirmation of no significant buy-ahead trend in management commentary, or sequential networking revenue growth consistent with normal demand rather than an anomalous surge)

Where: Cisco quarterly earnings report (networking segment revenue) and management commentary on Q3/Q4 FY2026 earnings calls

Knowable after: 2026-07-31

In context

I, the security architecture, the network architecture, the latency requirements, all of that is leading them to look at making sure that their infrastructure is modernized. So that, combined with the fact that there's been a lot of learnings over the last couple of years about equipment that's past last day of support and the cybersecurity risks that are associated with that. I think those are well documented. And that's another thing that's leading them to do so. I would say that on the core networking side, the memory content is not quite as high as what you'd see in compute platforms. And so the price increases are more nominal than they are in sort of the compute systems that you see some of our competitors talking about and the things that are a larger percentage of their portfolio. So do I think customers will try to buy ahead in some cases, perhaps, but I don't think it's going to be a big trend in the networking side of our business. And UCS for us is just -- it's not as big a percentage as it represents for some of our peers. Ahmed Sami Badri: All right. Thank you, Jim. I want to hand it over to Chuck for some closing remarks following the Q&A. Charles Robbins: First, I want to thank all of you for being with us today. And I also want to thank our team. I'm very proud of what they've done and the hard work that they put in. And this -- the results today are like -- they're coming together after multiple years of effort to get here. And we want to continue to deliver this innovation to our customers, and our teams are dedicated to do so. We're proud of the performance, especially in the core. I think it's important to really think about 2 big areas of momentum opportunity for us, and we're very early in all of these.
